Your days start the first time the eSIM connects in the countries covered, not when you buy, so you can install it at home days early. For a week of maps, messaging and social apps, most travellers are fine with 3 to 5 GB. Video calls or streaming need more. Travel data across the countries covered from RoamZivo arrives as a QR code by email, with a copy kept in your account.

It works in each of the countries listed, 3 in all. In each one it connects wherever the partner networks have signal, which are the same networks local customers use. The eSIM is data only.
When do my days start?
On the first connection in the countries covered, not at purchase. The plan selected above (1 GB) runs for 7 days from that moment. You can install the eSIM at home and the clock stays still until you connect.
Do I get a local phone number?
No. The eSIM is data only. Your own SIM stays in for calls and texts, and WhatsApp keeps working over the eSIM data.
Can I share data with my laptop?
Yes. Hotspot sharing is supported on the plan selected above, so your laptop or tablet can use the eSIM data through your phone.
Does the North America eSIM work in Mexico and Canada as well as the US?
Yes, the North America eSIM works in Canada, Mexico and the United States on one plan. You do not need to buy or install anything new when you cross between them. The data allowance and the validity are shared across all three.
Is there an unlimited North America plan?
No, there is no unlimited plan for North America on this page. All 16 plans have a fixed amount of data, up to 50 GB. If you want unlimited data and are visiting one country only, check that country's own page.
Is 5 GB enough for a month across the US and Canada?
5 GB over 30 days is enough for a month in North America if you use WiFi in the evenings and mobile data for maps, messaging and browsing. Regular video or hotspot use needs 10 GB or 20 GB. All three sizes share the same 30 days of validity.
When does the validity start on a North America plan?
Validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in Canada, Mexico or the United States. It then runs without pausing, even on days you spend outside North America. Buying and installing early does not start it.
Do I need to change any settings when I cross a border?
Normally no. Keep the North America eSIM selected for mobile data with data roaming on for that line, and it should find a network in the next country. If it does not reconnect after a few minutes, restart the phone.
