Why RoamZivo for Southeast Asia

Bangkok

Works in Bangkok

One eSIM for Bangkok and every other covered country, 8 in all. It joins the local partner network in each one by itself.

Skip the rental counter

No pocket Wi-Fi or SIM counter to find when you land, and nothing to return before you fly home. The eSIM is installed before you leave.

Share with your laptop

Hotspot is allowed on the plan selected above, so a second device can use the same data in a cafe or a hotel room.

Which countries does the Southeast Asia eSIM cover?

The Southeast Asia eSIM works in every country listed here. Your phone joins a local network in each one by itself. Tap a country to see its own plans.

How to get connected

Step by step guide
  1. Check your phone

Your phone must be eSIM compatible and not locked to one carrier.

  2. Install at home

Scan the QR code on WiFi before you fly. Your days do not start yet.

  3. Switch on when you land

Choose the RoamZivo line for mobile data and turn on data roaming for it.

  4. Stay online

Watch your data in My eSIMs and top up the same eSIM if you need more.

Southeast Asia travel data guide

A Southeast Asia eSIM from RoamZivo is a prepaid data plan for travel across 8 countries that you install before you fly. Plans run on partner networks in 8 countries, with 5G where the operator offers it. The eSIM is data only, so your own SIM stays in for calls and texts.

There are 31 plans to choose from across 8 countries. Data sizes run from 1 GB to 20 GB, validity from 1 to 30 days, and prices start at $2.99. Unlimited plans are listed too, each with its own fair use line. Hotspot sharing is supported on every plan. These plans do not offer top ups, so buy a new plan if you run low.

Your days start the first time the eSIM connects in the countries covered, not when you buy, so you can install it at home days early. For a week of maps, messaging and social apps, most travellers are fine with 3 to 5 GB. Video calls or streaming need more, or an unlimited plan. Travel data across the countries covered from RoamZivo arrives as a QR code by email, with a copy kept in your account.

Southeast Asia FAQ

Does the eSIM work in every country covered?

It works in each of the countries listed, 8 in all. In each one it connects wherever the partner networks have signal, which are the same networks local customers use. The eSIM is data only.

When do my days start?

On the first connection in the countries covered, not at purchase. The plan selected above (3 GB) runs for 30 days from that moment. You can install the eSIM at home and the clock stays still until you connect.

Do I get a local phone number?

No. The eSIM is data only. Your own SIM stays in for calls and texts, and WhatsApp keeps working over the eSIM data.

Can I share data with my laptop?

Yes. Hotspot sharing is supported on the plan selected above, so your laptop or tablet can use the eSIM data through your phone.

Which countries are on the Southeast Asia eSIM?

The Southeast Asia eSIM covers Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and East Timor. That is eight countries on one plan. Singapore, Myanmar and Brunei are not included.

Is 10 GB enough for a month in Southeast Asia?

10 GB is enough for a month in Southeast Asia if you use hostel or hotel WiFi for big uploads and streaming. It covers daily maps, messages, bookings and social media. Heavy users should take 20 GB, since these plans cannot be topped up.

Should I buy the regional plan for Thailand only?

Not necessarily. If Thailand is your only stop, compare the Thailand page first, as a country plan may fit better. The regional plan makes sense once your trip includes a second covered country, such as Vietnam or Cambodia.

Do I need a new QR code in each country?

No, one QR code and one install cover all eight countries. When you cross a border, leave the eSIM line on with data roaming enabled. The phone connects to a local network by itself, usually within a few minutes.

When does the plan start if I visit several countries?

The plan starts at the first connection in any of the covered countries. After that the days run continuously, whichever country you are in. Time spent in a country outside the plan, such as Singapore, still counts.

How slow is the unlimited plan after the daily amount?

It depends on the plan. Versions with 1 GB, 2 GB or 3 GB per day drop to at most 1 Mbps. Versions with 5 GB or 10 GB per day drop to at most 384 Kbps, which is only enough for text messaging.

Can I top up the Southeast Asia eSIM?

No, top up is not offered on any Southeast Asia plan. If you use up a fixed plan, you buy a new one and install it. Choosing a larger size or an unlimited plan at the start avoids that.

How do I top up if I run low?

The plan selected above does not offer top ups. Buy a new plan from this page instead and install it as a second eSIM.
